One of the many challenges facing higher education is an organizational structure and culture that is not conducive for success in the 21st century. Problems include stifling bureaucracy, entrenched silos, resistance to change and petty campus politics. Colleges and universities will need to change radically in the coming years and social intranets may be a key to this transformation.

Yet, rather than creating and executing an effective content strategy, many schools find themselves regenerating and duplicating content in silos and pockets, then attempting to handle that content through means that are difficult to manage at best, crippling at worst.

Helped by the members of the J. Boye groups, we’ve found bright speakers from Europe and North America, who will come and share their experiences and vision for higher education on the web.
The track is opened with an expert talk by higher education expert Bob Johnson on top tasks. In the sessions during the day you’ll hear presentations from industry experts and web professionals on governance, digital strategy, social media, analytics, user experience and finally a session on digital marketing. Among the case studies are Bryn Mawr College, Pittsburg State University, University of Richmond, and University at Buffalo.
With 4 other tracks going on at the same time, you can use the breaks, plenary sessions and popular evening social events to broaden your perspective and engage in conversations with peers from other industries. If you have time, come early and stay a day or two longer to attend the 2 other conference days.
